Works on this 5.5-km-long section in the town of Bamenda are making progress, despite all the constraints associated with the project area. The base course in bituminous-bound graded aggregates, which Bun’s gradually lays, is significantly transforming this section into a 2 x 2 lane.
This section adds value to the Babadjou - Bamenda road reconstruction project. As at 2 June 2025, it should be noted that works were making good progress and the company in charge was currently laying the base course in bituminous-bound graded aggregates. While execution studies are nearing completion, cleaning and bush clearing operations are fully complete along the entire section. As for pavement works, while the subgrade is already laid over the entire route, the sub-base and tack coat already covered 4.6 km and 2.9 km respectively. The base course in bituminous-bound graded aggregates the company has started laying already covered 2.8 km as at 2 June 2025. As concerns the construction of drainage structures, T2+CS2 kerbs have been built over 6.7 km out of 11 km and gutters were already constructed over 11,470 LM. The construction of hydraulic structures is complete as seven box culverts have been built.
