In a three-day road project review, the Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, brainstormed with stakeholders involved in the construction of infrastructure the solutions to eradicate bad roads in the country.
This is the main recommendation made by the Project Owner to the project team this morning, August 02, 2025. SEAS-COSEDIL has been given strict instructions to complete this task. The Project Owner once again reiterated a permanent recommendation, which requires the company to mobilize on the site to carry out works to maintain traffic flow while awaiting the conclusions of the environmental audit
The company's presentation revealed that work has been moving well. The first 20 kilometers of the project have already been validated, and the topographical surveys have been completed at kilometer point 77+00, which is 65/70 km. This project, which covers 70 km, is being executed by SEAS-COSEDIL Sarl, under the management of the Integc-Bec la routière-Ecta BTP consortium, to the tune of 74,228,377,470 CFA francs. Progress rate to date is 20.50%. According to the Project Owner, Administrative procedures, which seem to be a constraint for the company, should not slow down its work. It is therefore necessary to follow the existing road alignment. The construction of Phase 1 of the Olounou - Oveng - Gabon border road will contribute to improving the movement of people and the transportation of goods and products from one country to the other.
