During the Review of Road Infrastructure projects presided by the Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, this Tuesday September 2nd, 2025, he prescribed the constitution of permanent monitoring team on the field.
On this 146,34km stretch linking Edea Littoral region and Kribi South region, the main difficulties faced by the enterprise in charge of the maintenance works on this road are related to the actual heavy rain fall in the zone. As the project owner said priority is to maintain traffic by all means, the enterprise is progressing with the treatment of potholes on most critical points.
It has been observed that the section Edea-Brigde on the river Nyong is the most complained section by passengers compared to Kribi-Bridge on Nyong.
To solution these difficulties the Minister recommended the entrepreneurs to put in place a permanent monitoring team on the field, total respect of the termes as prescribed on the contract, and an effective alternative to keep works progressing despite the weather’s disruption.
Let’s note that, the physical works on the field are actually rated at 82,28% and has cost the total amount of 3 499 610 670 CFAF all taxe included.
