The 15km Widikum-Bifang-Eka stretch of road in Momo Division of the North West Region will soon be rehabilitated.
The rehabilitation of the road will boost the activities of the agricultural production basin, it will ease movement of goods in the area.
A service order was issued on July 9, 2024 to notify the contractor on the terms of the contract to rehabilitate the road stretch leading to Widikum–Bifang–Eka, Widikum Sub Division, Momo Division in the North West Region.
The details of the project shows that much has been done on the field such as the cleaning and Earth works, cleaning and brush clearing, tree felling cutting and throwing of rocks, backfill from borrowed pit bridge access and backfill from borrowed pit of 1000 m3, road re-chamber and compacting done on a 70000 m2, creation of ditches of 15000 ml, plus cost of transport 500m3.
In a nutshell, additional expansion has been recorded in the level of engineering structure, the drainage and cleaning of bridges and box culverts, metallic culvert of 1000, 6.4 ml, metallic culvert of 800, 19.2 ml and metallic culvert of1000 head and
Metallic culvert 1000 chamber stone masonry gutter of 50ml, stone pavement of 50m2, cleaning of river way 30m3, anti erosion protection and weep holes, all has been put in place to facilitate the work so as to delivery within the timeframe.
The rehabilitation of this said road was awarded to BACHE GROUP VISION CO. LTD, for an estimated amount of 54, 995, 000 FCFA including tax, financed by the Ministry of Public Works it's Public Investments Budget fiscal year 2024.
According to the information from the field, the physical work progress as of March 2025 rated at 42.02%, the site installation is 80% , and delay consumption 100%. The financial statement issued by the company as evidence of the last stage of work done is 23,110,650 FCFA including VAT awaits payment.
