These projects have been examined during the second day of the Review of Road Infrastructure projects aimed at analysing jointly funded projects. The presentation was presided by the Minister of Public works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, this Wednesday September 3rd*
The rehabilitation of the road sections Moutourwa-Maroua (36km) lot1 executed by the groupement SOTCOCOG SA/STAPORT SA for an envelope of 21 135 523 591 CFAF all taxe included and Magada-Guidiguis (68,30km) Lot 2 by the Groupement SINOHYDRO/STECOL for 40 426 339 022 CFAF falls within the project for the territorial planning and promotion of private sector in the Far-North region.
On the road section Moutourwa-Maroua, the physical execution is rated at 1,6%, and 2,55% on Magada-Guidiguis.
Globally, the enterprises in charge of works reported several contrains participating in delaying the advancement of the di-project. Among which, the abundant rainfall in the zone, difficulties in the permanent and close monitoring of the construction site and also the fact that the contracts are not yet formalised with the enterprises. These factors do not ease works on the field considering that majority of what should be done are based on the pavement. To fill this gap and reach up with the expectations and objectives fixed the enterprises are working on mobilising a huge number of work teams on the field to start work immediately as the rainy season ends. They have equally anticipated in the prefabrication of culverts, and more than 50% of materials are available on the field.
