Works to construct the bridge over River Konye in Western Bakossi located within the Kupe-Muanenguba Division of the South West Region, are progressing satisfactorily. Following this progress rate, the project is likely to be delivered on time or even before the end of the contractual time frame.
Construction of the permanent bridge over the Konye River and maintenance of access roads is being conducted by Destiny Enterprise, and the preliminary technical acceptance has been completed. As of 7 July, the bridge under construction over River Konye was gradually taking shape. Destiny Enterprise Ltd teams have been working relentlessly daily to meet the objectives set by the Project Owner, namely completing the project before the end of the contractual time frame. Despite the onset of the rain, the contractor didn't stop working on the site as well as the access road, they strive to complete the first phase of the contract, which has been received provisionally with an estimated amount of the main contract:107 591 266 FCFA, including tax. The second phase of the contract is an additional contract, which is on suspension due to heavy rains. The characteristics of the bridge stipulate a 7.4 m width and a 36m span, with an estimated amount for the additional contract: 152 911 790 FCFA, including tax. The work on this nearly completed second structure aims to open up the entire area, which constitutes a major agricultural production basin. As a reminder, the work on the said structure is financed to the tune of 260,503,056 FCFA, including tax, by the MINTP Budget. It is a bridge with beams under roadways comprising two spans of respective lengths of 7.4m and 36 spans.
