The recharging and compacting of the 6.2km stretch of road linking Middle Bonjongo-Lower Bonjongo- Limbe has been completed. So far, all the culverts have been completed while the soil compaction has been carried out.
The rehabilitation of the 6.2 km long middle
Bonjongo-Lower Bonjongo-Limbe stretch of road in Fako Division of the South West region, has been advancing.The construction company has completed the installations of five culverts. In view of the progress of the works and the mobilisation of the teams, the road under rehabilitation in the Fako Division of the Southwest region is said to be delivered before the contractual deadlines. Indeed, as of 24th May 2026, physical progress has excalated its priviewed level.
It is on this note that the contractor is requesting for a technical reception of the project this week, with provisional reception expected in the weeks ahead.
As of now the recharging and compacting of the 6.2 km stretch of road Middle Bonjongo-Lower Bonjongo to Limbe is now a reality so far all the culverts head has been completed and the soil compaction has been done as well paved the movement of goods and persons in a cheaper rate of transport. It is on this note that the contractor is requesting on a technical reception for this week, which subsequently the provisional reception could follow as well.
Besides the main challenge of heavy rainfalls in the Southwest region and Limbe in particular the contractor still strive to complete the works on time.
A critical factor cited by the construction company is the weakness and the poor nature of studies done on the field, a culvert was prescribed on a 6.2 km stretch instead of six culverts no gutters inclusive, if this is done as stipulated in the contract the road will not last for a year.
It is evident that the road will boost and facilitate movement of goods and persons, thereby reduces the fair of transportation, and it will also provide a more comfortable ride, reducing driver fatigue and improving the travel experience.
It is apparently important for a well-maintained farm-to-market road to facilitate trade with subdivisions, thereby contributing to economic growth and development.
